In the beginning of the 23rd century (SOC Universe), many civilizations living in our galaxy gathered in Planet Arcturus B for the first Intergalactic Transhumanist Convention. After centuries of enduring countless devastating wars it was universally recognized that species with longer lifespans were less likely to engage in conflict. The convention served as a forum to share ideas and new technology aimed at advancing the science of Transhumanism as well as to fund those ideas. Thus, like “The Gold Rush” in the Old American West, the race to find the fountain of youth begun.
