One might assume that these scientists would exercise caution and refrain from announcing, during the 2330 convention, their possible unraveling of the secret of time travel. However, that's precisely what they did, with devastating consequences. See, the very concept of time travel becomes intricate when you attempt to travel counterclockwise – intricate and rather messy.
In the wake of such news, the majority of alien species across the Milky Way simply laughed. The Enlightened became synonymous with ridicule, causing them to plummet from the pedestal of geniuses to that of jesters. However, some species believed that traveling back in time could yield highly detrimental, if not fatal, consequences. The Arcturus species could potentially eradicate entire civilizations through a form of ethnic cleansing by simply revisiting the past and erasing the ancestors of their adversaries. On the opposite end of the spectrum, others held the belief that when you travel back, you create new branches, initiating alternate universes and leaving the current reality untouched; for them, The Enlightened’s new project seemed rather futile. Yet, those who dreaded catastrophic outcomes for their kind went to the extent of placing bounties on these scientists' heads.
